Biography

William was born in 1801. He was the son of Richard Hart and Rachael Unknown. He passed away about 1863.


William was baptised on the 26th of April 1801 "William Son of Richard Hart by Rachel his Wife was Baptised" at Dawley Magna Anglican Church in Shropshire.

In 1822 William was witness to his sister Mary's marriage to David Thomas on the 19th of October in Aberystruth, Monmouthshire.

William Hart and Ann Hints married 13 March 1826 Trevethin, Monmouthshire. The register states that William was "of Aberdare in the County of Glamorgan a Bachelor", and that Ann was a Spinster. The witnesses were Edward Hints and Ann Roper.


The following year, on the 27th of January 1827 Edward Son of William Hart, Labourer, and Ann Hart, of Abersychan was baptised at Trevethin, Monmouthshire. Sadly, at the same church four months later, on the 13th of May, Edward was buried. His abode was given as Old-furnace.

On June 6th 1838 William and Ann's son John was baptised at Panteague / Panteg in Monmouthshire. An additional note on the baptismal entry states that John was "3 Years old when baptized". The abode was Cwmynigwy?

John died in September 1842 and was buried at Aberystruth, Monmouthshire on the 20th of September, aged 7 years. His abode is written as Nantyglo.

Six weeks later William's mother Rachel passed away. William was the witness noted on her GRO Death Certificate as being present at the death. His address was given as Pontnewynidd, Trevethin.
