George was born in 1847. He is the son of William Hart and Letitia Whitman. He married Ella Blanche Smith at Halifax in 1888.[1] Their children included Levi Martin "Lee" (b. 1890, killed in action in France 1917), Louisa Grace (b.1892)[2], Letitia (b.1894)[3], Henry Alfred "Scott" (b. 1896), Elsie Ethel (b. 1899), and Albert Nelson Howard (b. 1901)[4].
George served as a reserve officer in the 66th Regiment, Princess Louise Fusiliers, in Halifax for many years, retiring to Canso with the rank of Major. George died at Canso in 1928.[5]
