By 1851, her husband had moved from Tennessee to Texas, via Missouri, and purchased land in Cherokee, County. It appears that the couple split up, however, and Mary Ann remained in Missouri with several of her children. I have not yet found a divorce record for Mary Ann and William R. Cloud.
In 1860, she was living with her daughter Angeline and her husband William Cantwell, along with other boarders. At that time, none of the rest of her children were living with her. Either they were out on their own, or they were living with their father or other relatives.
Her name cannot be found in any later census records, nor is there a death record for her in Webster County, Missouri, under the surname Cloud. There is a chance that she remarried and is listed under a different surname in all later records. I'm trying to check her children's records to see if their mother is named. So far the only surname I found other than Cloud is Hartin, which in and of itself may be a misspelling of Harden.
