Biography
William was born on 12 October 1844 in Laneview /Trenton, Gibson Co. Tennessee to W. D. and Rebecca Varner Haste. He married Martha "Mattie" Jane Hendrix, daughter of Wilson Hendrix and Jane Armfield, on 26 October 1865 in Gibson Co. Tennessee. They raised 8 children and resided in the Laneview/Trenton, Gibson Co. Tennessee area until their death. William H. passed away on 20 July 1911, Martha passed on 20 April 1892. William remarried on 02 May 1895 to Nancy A. Hendrix Phelan, Martha's sister and widow of Henry Thomas Phelan. [1]
