To the Profile Managers for Hastings-1301,

Would you please delete that Jospeh Hastings, b. Orange Co., NC; d. Bedford Co., NC served in the militia during the American Revolutionary War? I have used Joseph Hastings for a supplemental in the SAR and his designation is patriotic service as Joseph served on a Grand Jury in July of 1783. Joseph Hastings never fought in the NC militia nor the NC Continental LIne. The DAR also designates Joseph as having given service to the American Revolution per his service on a Grand Jury in 1783. As Wikitree likes to keep everything within the primary documentation boundaries, Joseph Hastings' deeds during the American Revolutionary War should reflect his correct service. Thank you so much. James H. Maples, 4th great-grandson of Joseph Hastings
