Biography
William Hastings was born in 1840 at Deddington in Oxfordshire. He was the son of James Hastings and his wife Sarah, born Sarah Brain. [1] [2]
In 1851 William Hastings was living at 38 Clarendon Street in Oxford with his parents James and Sarah and their other children. His age was given as 10, implying a birth date in 1840 or 1841. His birthplace was given as Deddington, Oxfordshire. He was at school. [2]
