Josiah Hatch was born 30 May 1680 at Scituate, Massachusetts, the son of Samuel Hatch and Mary Doty.[1] He married Desire Hawes on 24 February 1702 at Yarmouth, Massachusetts.[2] They had seven children:

Edmund b. 1705; m. Reliance Crowell
Suraiah b. 1707
Jabez b. 1709; m. Mary Fisher
Ebenezer b. 1710 (twin)
Josiah b. 1710 (twin)
Mary b. 1714
Josiah died 12 January 1715 at Rochester, Massachusetts.[3]
On 30 March 1715, his widow Desire was granted the letter of administration for his estate. His inventory was taken on 22 March 1715 at Rochester and recorded at Plymouth.[4]
On 1 May 1724, with his estate not settled and his widow now deceased, John Cowing of Cape Cod was granted the letter of administration for his estate.[5]
In 1725, the estate account shows debts paid by the estate.[6]
