Biography
Elizabeth was born about 1852. [1] She was the daughter of James Hawkin and Ann (Johns) Hawkin.
She emigrated to New Zealand with her parents and 4 siblings on the Charlotte Gladstone, arriving at Lyttelton in January 1871.[2]
She married John Borrell in 1872.[3]
They had children:
- Robert Borrell (1873)
- Mary Ann Borrell (1876)
- George Hawkin Borrell (1878-1936)
- James Borrell (1881)
- Stephen Borrell (1883)
- Margaret Elizabeth Borrell (1885)
She passed away in January 1934, aged 82 years,[4][5] and is buried with her parents and son George in Addington Cemetery, Christchurch.[6][7]
