Biography

William was born 31 October 1870 in Dallas, Texas. He married when, he was age 23, Cora Ellen Clinebell, on 16 July 1894 in Joplin, Missouri. He and Cora had 8 children. In the 1920 United States Census William identifies his occupation as Dairy Farmer. His spouse Cora was pregnant with their child Ruby Bessie Hayes at the time of his death. Ruby was born 29 July 1920. In 1880, at the age of 9 he was living in Arkansas River, Fremont, Colorado with his family. In 1890, at the age of 20, his mother Rebecca Bozarth passed away Carl Junction, Jasper, Missouri, on 01 December 1890. His father Bryon Hayes passed away 01 December 1897. He passed away 14 Feb 1920 in Galena, Kansas.

The 1918 influenza pandemic (January 1918 – December 1920; colloquially known as Spanish flu) was an unusually deadly influenza pandemic, the first of the two pandemics involving H1N1 influenza virus. It infected 500 million people around the world and resulted in the deaths of 50 to 100 million (three to five percent of the world's population). Making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in human history.
