Bert was born in 1928. He was the son of Arty Haynes and Florrie Jacka. He passed away in 2005.

GOODIE-HAYNES-The marriage will be solemnised at Nicholls Street Methodist Church on November 6 at 4.30 p.m. of Valerie June, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Goodie, of 123 Pell Street, Railway Town, and Bert, second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. Haynes, of Moonta, S.A.[1]
WEDDING BELLS Haynes — Goodie The Nicholls street Methodist Church was the setting chosen by Miss Valerie June Goodie, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Goodie of 123 Pell street, lor her marriage to Mr. Bert Haynes, second son of Mr. and Mrs. A Haynes of Moonta, S. A., which was solemnised at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon A simple wedding gown of rich white satin, made with a fitted bodice and full flared skirt, was won by the bride. Twin comers of the neat- square neckline, and the slim waist was met by twin side clusters of orange blossom caught the peplums with pleated taffeta ruffles finishing the curved edges. Pleated taf feta also edged the short tailored sleeves, and the full skirt extended in a long, wide train. Her scalloped silk-embroidered veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossom, and she wore white silk mittens and a single strand pearl necklace and earrings, the groom's gifts. She also carried a lovely bouquet of white roses. Miss Marjorie McKenzie( as brides-maid, wore a dainty gown of blossom pink spotted net over matching taffeta. The bodice was softly gathered into the high round neckline, which was finished with a soft roll collar, and a diamond-shaped panel was set in at the waistline. The full skirt was gracefully flared, and back interest was centred in a three-tiered, bustle-effect panel. Long pink silk mittens met her pretty petal sleeves, and a curvette of pink flowers caught her shoulder-length pink veil. She also carried a bouquet of pink roses and wore a three-strand necklace of milky pearls. The groom's brother, Mr. Roy Haynes was best man, and the bride was given away by her father. Mesdames Stewart, M. Winders, W. McKenzie and Haynes, decorated the church with roses and car-nations, and Barry Winders placed in position a while satin cushion for the bride. Mrs. Nelly Dellbridge sang "Because," and "O Promise Me," during the ceremony and a horseshoe was placed on the bride's arm by her nephew, Allan Haynes as she left the church. About 70 guests attended the reception at the West Club Rooms, where they were greeted by Mrs. Goodie, in a smart black suit trimmed with blue. She carried black accessories and wore a spray of rich red roses. The groom's mother was unable to be present. A cluster of white flowers and a wed ding bell topped the lovely two-tiered wedding cake, which was much admired at the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Haynes will leave on to night Adelaide express to their home at Moonta, S.A. For travelling the bride has chosen a becoming frock of petal pink silk cut with a sweetheart neckline. The bodice is shirred down the centre front, and the four-gore skirt is topped by a deep gathered peplum., White accessories will complete the ensemble.[2]
