Betsey was the daughter of John L. Haynes and Laura Applebee.
On June 10, 1847 in Pittsburg, NH she married Joseph Benjamin French, son of Jonathan French and Lucy Wiggin.
Their children were Mary Emeline, Amy A, Olive Whitter, Hiram H, Charles Henry, Laura Effie, Sarah Eva, Alice A, Eleanor Mary, Frank Irvin, Benjamin, and Melvin Harry.
There were also at least two infants buried on the Benjamin French Homestead on Back Lake. Their stone there simply said: "Children of Benj. French, died March 5, 1855".
