Adah was born in 1892 in Richardson County, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Samuel Heim and Elizabeth Heim. She passed away in 1996 in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Adah (Heim) James is buried in the Heim Cemetery.

"Adah H. (Heim) James, 104, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1996, in Mercy Pavilion, where she had been a patient since 1990. She was born March 11, 1892, in Dawson, Neb., to Samuel F. and Rosina (Heim) Heim. She graduated from Dawson High School and trained as a licensed practical nurse in Lincoln, Neb. She moved to Battle Creek in 1944 from Lincoln, Neb. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Battle Creek Sanitarium Hospital from 1944 to 1974, retiring at age 72. She married Floyd James on Feb. 16, 1916 in Dawson, Neb. He died in 1968. Surviving are a son, Robert E. James of Fayettville, Ga.; a daughter-in-law who had cared for her for many years, Albertine C. James of Battle Creek; two grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; and a sister, Mary Bilsing of McCook, Neb. She also was preceded in death by sons, Carl D. and Louis Edward James; brothers, Richard Heim and Melvin Heim; and sisters, Tillie Heim and Louella Bilsing. Community involvement, hobbies: Member of First Presbyterian Church and XYZ Club of the church. Served in Sew n Sews sewing group at the church. While living in Nebraska,was a member of the Methodist church. Enjoyed sewing, traveling and stamp collecting. Services: Were held Saturday, Dec. 7, 1996, in Humboldt, Neb. Burial: Heim Cemetery in Dawson, Neb. Memorials: First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements: Richard A. Henry Funeral Home. "
