BLANCHE R. BAKER, 80, MANHEIM

Lancaster New Era (PA) - Monday, February 5, 2001 Blanche R. Baker, 80, 135 N. Penn Street, Manheim, formerly of Peoria, Ill., died Saturday at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim, after a six-month illness.

A homemaker and former resident of Peoria, Ill., she was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Manheim, and the Metamora Women's Club, Peoria.

She loved the outdoors, animals and big-band music.

Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late Agnes Shelly Heisey Heagy and stepdaughter of the late Walter Heagy.

She was married to Brook M. Baker for 58 years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Rodney B., married to Penny Baker of San Diego, Calif., and Philip Wesley, married to Patricia Kelly Baker of McHenry, Ill.; a daughter, Donna Marie, married to Rick Schaidle of Manheim; four-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wallace, married to Betty Jo Heisey of Penryn, and Nevin Heagy of Lititz.
