Biography

John James Henderson was born about 1854 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland, the son of Mary (Kaar.Kerr) Henderson and Gordon Ephraim Henderson.^{[citation needed]}

He emigrated in May 1870 on board "Great Britain" to Melbourne, Victoria.

Brother (Osbert & wife) migrated to Victoria, Australia 1864. Father (Gordon), Mother (Mary), and children John (16 years), Robert (14 years) & Agnes (19 years) travelled as unassisted Migrants to Victoria, Australia on the Ship 'Great Britain' arriving in May 1870. From the ships record, Agnes appears to have missed the boat (her named is crossed out on the passenger list. But (below) is listed as living on Gordon's death record)^[1][2]

He married Sarah Annie Keasley on 19 June 1875 in Ballarat East, Victoria, Australia.^[3] Their children were:
