Peter Henry was born in Scotland.
Peter Henry was born about 1838 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland [1]. He was the son of William Hendry and Ann Forbes.
Peter married Mary Watt in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1858 (The Steam Boat Family) [2]. Peter Henry stayed in Scotland, unlike other members of the family who migrated to New Zealand and America. They had 9 children: 4 sons and 5 daughters - 1 son Thomas and 1 daughter Mary died in infancy.
Peter Henry passes away in 1881, aged 43 years and is buried with his wife Mary Watt Henry, John Henry, Thomas and Mary Henry (infants) [3].
Inscription on his gravestone in Dunbennan Graveyard, Huntly, Scotland. In loving memory of my husband PETER HENRY bank accountant who died 10th May 1881 aged 43 years also his son JOHN who died in New Zealand 31st January 1898 aged 33 years also THOMAS and MARY who died in infancy also of MARY WATT wife of the above PETER HENRY who died at Gartly Schoolhouse 16th December 1909 aged 74 years.
