OBITUARY - 0. J. HERRICK

The funeral took place at Bromley on Thursday of the late Mr Oswald James Herrick of Springfield Road, St. Albans; who, at the age of 57 years, passed away suddenly on Tuesday after a short illness. Deceased was bom at Lincoln (Canterbury) and was a son of the late Mr Joseph John Herrick of Tai Tapu, one of the early settlers of Canterbury. For some years he carried on farming pursuits in Canterbury, later taking up farming in Taranaki. He was, however, through a series of unfortunate accidents, compelled to give up farming operations to seek lighter work, eventually going into business as a storekeeper at Springfield Road, Christchurch, about two rears ago, where he remained until his death. He leaves a widow, two sons and three daughters to mourn their loss.
