Prince Christoph Ernst August was born in 1901. He was the son of Friedrich Karl Hessen-Kassel.
Prince Christoph was a director in the Third Reich's Ministry of Air Forces, Commander of the Air Reserves, and held the rank of Oberführer in the SS.[1] On October 7, 1943, he was killed in an airplane accident in the Apennine Mountains near Forlì, Italy.[1]
