Doctor George Kendle Hickson BS was born on 15th September 1914 at Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He was the son of George Hickson and Mary Lowe.[1] He passed the Leaving Certificate in November 1932 and was offered a public exhibition for 1933 by the University of Sydney in the Arts Faculty.[2]
He served in the Australian Army during the Second World War, in the 7th Motor Regiment; enlisted 1st May 1941, discharged 23rd April 1942.[3]
George completed a Bachelor of Surgery degree at the University of Sydney in 1952.[4]
He passed away on 25th July 2000 at Wombarra, Wollongong, New South Wales and was buried in Scarborough Wombarra Cemetery.[5]
