Louis Nicholas Higdon was born on 6 February 1865 in Kentucky, United States, son of Samuel W Higdon (1825–1898) and Mary Elizabeth Mackey (1835–1894).

Louis (25) married Ora Tucker (17) (born about January 1873 in Kentucky, United States; daughter of John W. Tucker and Sarah F. (Unknown) Tucker) on 18 September 1890 in Hopkins, Kentucky, United States.[1]
Their son was Carley Brandon Higdon (16 November 1892 – 25 October 1964).
Louis died on 20 February 1920 in Owensboro, Daviess, Kentucky, United States, aged 55. He was buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Madisonville, Hopkins County, Kentucky.[2]
