Biography

Elizabeth was born at Clanfield, Oxfordshire, on 20 April 1805, and baptised the following day in Clanfield parish church. Her parents were John Higgons and his wife Ann.^[1]

She married John Shillingford, in the parish church at Clanfield, Oxfordshire, on 3 December 1835.^[2]

After their marriage they lived near Standlake, Oxfordshire where John was farming land between Standlake and Northmoor.

Elizabeth bore at least the following children with John Shillingford, all at Standlake:

1. Daniel Shillingford (b. and d.1837)
2. Richard Shillingford (b.1838)
3. Henry Shillingford (b.1839)
4. John Shillingford (b.1842)
5. Elizabeth Shillingford (b.1845)
6. Mary Ann Shillingford (b.1847)
