Biography
John Higgs was born in February, 1757 in Bertie, North Carolina.
John served in the Revolutionary War and obtained land in Montgomery County in the Georgia Cherokee Land Lottery of 1838.[1]
He married Elizabeth, most likely after he came to Georgia following the Revolutionary War. Her surname is uncertain. [2]
John died in February, 1840 in Montgomery, Georgia, United States, aged 83.
