Jesse was born in about 1789 in Sussex County, Virginia and child of Isaac Hill and Mildred Hines. He married Mary (Polly) Bray on October 6, 1818, in Barren, Kentucky. He was issued land in Section 15, Township 45-N, Range 16-W, in Moniteau County, Missouri, on November 10, 1841In1850, he was living with his wife, Mary, and children Joel, Edward, John, Isaac, Clarissa, Louisa, and Bithena in Moniteau County, Missouri. Son Joel was listed as being born in Kentucky, the other children were born in Missouri, implying that the family moved there between 1825 and 1830. Jesse passed away in 1853, and buried in Jesse Hill Family Cemetery in Moniteau County, Missouri.[1]

Know all men by these presents that I, Jesse H. Hill, of the County of Barren and State of Kentucky, hath nominate my friend, Isaac Hill, of the same county and state my true and lawful attorney-in-fact for me and in my name and stead and to my use to sell for the best price he can get, all my interest, right, title and claim which I am always entitled to in a certain tract of of one hundred acres of land situated in the County of Sussex and State of Virginia which tract of land was willed to my mother, Mildred Hill, by her father, John Hinds and which tract of land was sold by my father, Isaac Hill, to Henry Ellis during my mother's life, which after her death death is to decent to me by legal bequeath and I do by there presents fully authorize and inpower my said attorney-in-fact to sell and receive the money or any part thereof, I do convey my right and title to any person purchasing the same and to make use of my name in any conveyance, receipt or other instrument in writing that may be necesssary for insuring the title and further to do execute and perform all manner of acts and things for carrying into effect the aforegoing said sell and conveyance of the aforesaid land which I could do were I present and had done it myself, hereby ratifing and confirming whatever my said attorney may lawfully do in the above premisses in witness whereof I have hereunto se my hand and seal this 23rd day of august 1816 -- Signed: Jssee H. On the 28th day of February 1822, this power of attorney from Jesse H. Hill to Isaac Hill was presented for record and appearing by annexed certificate that the same had been duly acknowledged by Jesse H. HIll, the party hereto be his act and deed, the said power of attorney together with the certificate is recorded in the clerk's office of Sussex County -- (Virginia) -- Teste: J. C. Bailey, Clerk

1824 --- The following is a brief of a long legal agreement recorded in the deed records of Barren County Court House, Kentucky:
REAL ESTATE CONVEYANCE
Hill heirs to William Allee. We, Jesse HIll, Sandy Hill of Monroe County, Fredrick Ackerson, wife Rebecca and Green Hill of Barren County are bound to James Birdsong, wife Peggy, Nicholas Allee, wife Ann (should be Tempy), James Hill and John Hill, all of Cole and Cooper Counties, Missouri. In the sum of $10,000 to be paid at the close of Mildred Hill's life or widowhood, who is heir of Isaac Hill, deceased, by his last will and testament. If the Missouri people return to Kentucky to live, the first named agree to pay the $10.000 at Mildred's death, agree to divide Issac Hill's estate with the Missouri people or to pay the $10,000. -
