Biography

The daughter of Albert Hill and Florence (Ryan) Hill, Edith Hill was born in the village of Medina, New York in 1875.^{[citation needed]} She lived there with her family.^[1] Living there with her family, she worked as a teacher.^[2][3] By 1910, she worked as a bookkeeper at a mercantile firm.^[4]

Edith Hill malrried John Sylvester Thompson (1873-1948), the son of John Veitch Thompson and Ellen Wood Fowell, applying for their marriage license in Orleans County on December 29, 1914^[5] and marrying there on December 30th.^[6] They made their home in Medina, where her husband was the president of a furniture factory.^[7][8][9]

Edith Thompson passed away at the age of 70^{[citation needed]} and is buried with her family at Boxwood Cemetery in Medina, New York.^[10]
