Charles Hillard MBE RN is a Military Veteran.

”M.B.E. FOR BATH NAVAL OFFICER Mr C. R. Hillard, of H.M.S. Victorious Mr Charles Rupert Hillard R.N., who is a Bathonian, was awarded the M.B.E. in the King's Birthday Honours List. Mr. Hilllard has served with the Royal Navy since November, 1917. He entered the service as a writer and now holds the rank of Commissioned Supply Officer H.M.S. Victorious, one of the latest aircraft carriers. He is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hillard, now residing at Walmer, Kent, and is a grand son of the late Mr Charles John Cooper, of Belgrave Crescent, who was well-known in the city. Mrs. L. L. Wooster, of 62, Shakespeare Avenue, and Mrs. O. E. Dupe, of Milton Avenue, are his aunts, and his uncle is Mr S. C. Cooper, who resides at 8, Highbury Terrace.”^[3]

Charles Rupert Hillard was 67 when he died ^[4] on 25 October 1967 residing in Bath, Somerset, England and his estate passed probate on 11 December 1967 in Bristol.^[5]
