Biography
ALICE HINTON, daughter of John Hinton and Grizzelle Kimbrough, was born around 1752/55 on the family plantation in Johnston (Wake) County, NC. She married, probably in the mid-1770s, JOHN JAMES, of New Hanover County, NC, and settled there near the mouth of the Cape Fear River. She was widowed in 1799 and died in 1835 leaving a will.
