Biography

4 Aug 1765: Christened at Bedale.[1]

James was brought up by his Grandparents, as noted by his brother, Robert Hird, in The Annals of Bedale.[2]

1789: Death of James "on the Coast of Africa, in the Factory, Old Calabar" (Nigeria). He was a Cooper on the slave ship Mary Ann of Liverpool. [2]
