Mrs. Pauline H. Adams
Mrs. Pauline H. Adams, 80, former Portsmouth resident, died Monday at her home on Camp Creek, near East Lynn, WV after an illness of the last three weeks of complications.
Mrs. Adams was a daughter of Arthur and Mary Fraley Hobbs and was born October 27, 1859 in Virginia (now West Virginia). She was the last of the family. Mrs. Adams was a member of the First Baptist Church, Portsmouth.
Surviving are these children:
Albert Adams of East Lynn, Grover Adams of Wayne, WV, Goebel Adams of Pineville, WV, Mrs. Myra McKenzie and Mrs. Opal Lother of Nauvoo, Mrs. May Evans of Portsmouth, Mrs. Erie Chapman of East Lynn and Mrs. Mary Adkins of Hubball. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
Her husband, Goodwin Adams, died in 1932. A daughter and two sons also preceeded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday with Rev. Paris B. Adkins officiating. Burial will be in the Arthur Hobbs cemetery near her home.
Cause: Cerebral hemorrhage; apoplexy (paralysis due to stroke)
