Lemuel was granted land in Argyle, Nova Scotia in 1785. Very little is known of his origins prior to that. Based on the timeframe, he may have arrived with the Loyalists however no evidence has been found in lists of the United Empire Loyalists available.
He married Mary UNKNOWN
On July 23, 1794, he was commissioned as a Lieutenant of the 2nd Battalion of the Shelburne County Militia Regiment for Argyle Township.[1]
Mary passed away in 1854.[2]
