Leslie Arthur Hobbs was born on 6 January 1896 and baptised in Cathcart on 30 March 1896. He was the son of Walter Rupert Hobbs and Emma Louisa Webb^[1]

He Married Jessie Joyce King (1900 - 1980) in Cathcart on 25 April 1921.^[2] The couple had five children:

• Vivienne Joy Hobbs (1923 - 2008)
• Joslyn Douglas Hobbs (1928 - 2005)^[3] - he married Muriel Margaret (LNAB unknown) and had a child Joslyn David Hobbs.
• Glen Barry Hobbs (1930 - 2006)
• Leslie Dale Hobbs (1922 - 2011)
• John Dorien Walter Hobbs^[4] (1925 - ) m. Mary Christine Hockley. Child: Leslie Athol Hobbs ^[5]
