Biography
Elizabeth Hobday was born about 1825, and baptised 3 Oct 1825 at Barham, St John the Baptist, Kent. Her father was Edward Hobday and mother Elizabeth Anne Hobday.[1]
Aged 15-19 in the 1841 census Elizabeth Hobday lived with her family at Derringston Street, Barham, Kent, England. In the 1851 England census she was listed as tailor, wife, 25. Her husband, William Knight was not at home at the night of census. Had he died? or, more probably, migrated to Australia ahead of his family?[3]
As her two children arrived in Australia, it is probable that she accompanied them. This death, in 1900, is probably her death.[4]
