Biography

Uriah was baptised at Brewham, Somerset, England on 14 June 1818. He was the son of Joseph Hoddinott and Anne Ames

6 Jun 1841. Resident with his father and step-mother at Alley Field Farm, Witham Friary, Somerset, immediately before emigrating. June 1841. He sailed from Belfast on a small vessel called the "Mary Nixon", picking up emigrants at Cork, Ireland. Shortly after leaving Cork the second mate of the ship had his leg broken and Uriah took his place for the remainder of the voyage. November 1841. He was at Merri Creek, Port Melbourne, Australia.

He was buried on 7 October 1885 at Bairnsdale Cemetery, Victoria, Australia, aged 66
