Biography

John Hodgkins was born on March 4, 1839 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom. He was the son of James Hodgkins & Catherine Steers.^[1]

In the 1841 census John (age 2) was living with his parents & siblings in Adams's Row, Walsall, Staffordshire, England.^[2]

In the 1851 census John (age 12) was the son of James Hodgkins in Snowhill, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. He was a scholar and his father was a gun smith labourer.^[1]

John's marriage to Elizabeth Emmens was registered in the Apr-May-Jun quarter of 1862 in the Birmingham district.^[3][4] Their children were all born in the United States.

John (age 76) died on January 14, 1917 in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas, United States.^[10][11]
