Biography
Dan was born about 1784 in Bledington, Oxfordshire[1] , the son of William Hodgkins and Elizabeth Nichols.
He married Jane Jarvis at Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire in 1806, and they had one son, William (1806-1886).[2]
He was baptised age 25 on 25 Jul 1809 at Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire. [3]
On 27 Dec 1823 he married Hannah Hirons at Chipping Norton, with whom he had one son, Joseph (1828-1886)[4]
In the 1841 census they were living in Chipping Norton - Dan Hodgkins 50 cabinet maker Born in Oxon; Hannah Hodgkins 45 not born in Oxon; Joseph Hodgkins 15 born in Oxon.[5]
In the 1851 census he was living at Church St, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire - Dan Hodgkins head marr 68 cabinet maker b Bledington Gloucs; Hannah Hodgkins wife 54 b Chipping Norton.[6]
He died in the Jun quarter 1860 in Chipping Norton, age 78.[7]
