James was born in 1866 at Drummullan, Arboe. He was the son of Elisa Hogg, unmarried labourer.

Research Notes
Possible 1911 census - James Hogg of Moneymore, with a wife Sarah Bradley; they lived in England for many years before moving to Moneymore.
They married in 1888 Q2 Bradley Sarah Jane Newcastle T. 10b 223 + Hogg James.
Their son Sidney James was an Orangeman and died in 1949; the obituary only names in-laws;
James died 16 May 1931 at Omagh county hospital. Death notice
