Biography

FRANCES ETHA "Tootsie" HOLDEN STAPP
FRANCES ETHA HOLDEN was born on 3 October 1905, at Columbia, Brown County, South Dakota, United States. She was the daughter of MARTE MARGRETHE "Maggie" RASMUSSEN and FRANCIS MARION HOLDEN.
She married ANDREW LEONARD "Pete" STAPP born on 27 January 1905, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, the son of MARTHA JANE MORGAN and SAMUEL DAVID STAPP. He died on 6 June 1988, in San Joaquin County, California, and is buried in Rio Vista Odd Fellows and Masonic Cemetery, Rio Vista, Solano, California.
Their children were
  1. MERWIN ANDREW STAPP Sr. (1922–2008)
  2. WALLACE 'Wally' LEE STAPP (1925–1985)
  3. VELMA MAY STAPP CARDOZA (1927–2000)
"Tootsie"
Memories of my great-aunt, FRANCES ETHA ‘Tootsie’ HOLDEN STAPP
She was my grandmother's younger sister. And while my grandmother always seemed to enjoy uniquely close relationships with all her siblings, there was indeed something special about the relationship between her and 'aunt' Frances.
Our usual occasion to gather as a family was every Sunday for lunch at my grandmother’s. She would normally be found hurridly fussing about as the meal was being prepared. There are only a few times I can recall anything or anyone being able to disrupt that usual and customary routine…most of them I recall, was during visits by my great-aunt Frances and Uncle Pete.
And when I say ‘disrupt’ I do not mean in an intentional way to derail my grandmother’s preparation, but I do add the very probable “intentionally mischievous” to the thought. Because only Frances seemed to possess the ability to say a word or phrase or recount a part of a shared memory of the two of them, just at the right moment, and then there’d be suggestive giggling from my grandmother….then there'd be a little cackling…and then came that glorious SNORT from my grandmother immediately followed by both women's uproarious peels of laughter! My grandmother loved to laugh, but Frances alone could tease out one of those snorts, quite unlike anyone other. And I cannot even begin to qualify what I mean by ‘uproarious’ but will say that Frances and Sadie shared an almost identical sound and character of laughter. And when you combined the two together, well, let's just say no one in ear-shot missed the event! If you’d ever experienced them during one of these events you already knew you need not enter the kitchen to know what was going on. One by this time would be learning on the other, half hugging, half to keep from falling down, and both laughing so hard neither could speak for some time….
Yes, I do say almost all of the Holden siblings shared special sibling relationships but Frances and Sadie had something very special. And as long as I live I will remember the sound of their absolutely infectious, raucous laughter and that snort.

Other than linking the tombstones I'm not sure if there is anything else you can do. On Wikitree they have mentors. They would probably have more knowledge than I do about it. You're not being a bother. We all want the same thing. 1 correct tree.

Sincerely, Melanie Armstrong

It's a Find A Grave error. Pretty sure it means it needs to be linked to a tombstone.
I'm not trying to be a bother here, just wanting to learn so I can be better at maintaining my profiles....Is there something I can do to either remedy or further query the problem? Both Frances and Pete have headstone images and visible details? Thank you.

This profile has a 571 FindAGrave - Link without Grave ID error. Please correct.
The citation sources are generally straight copies. Can you please be a bit more specific as I don't know by heart all the error type codes or phrases. Thank you, and I will correct whatever the offending data or detail is.
