My material on Mary Ann Holder Porter was given to me by my grandmother, a daughter of Mary Ann's, she was Mary Lou Ella Porter Miller. She carried a phenomenal amount of information on her family and her husband's in her head and was always happy to share the stories with me. She was ten years old when her mother died, and her mother had shared the stories with her from the earlier generations. In all my years, I have never found an error in anything that she told me and I have it written down. She also had a family Bible that she had kept updated, and I have it now.
