Mary Una Machattie Holmes was born[1] in 1914, the daughter of Ernest Francis Holmes and Mary Ainsworth (MacHattie) Holmes, in Moree, New South Wales, Australia.

Mary passed away[2] on Tuesday, 19th September 1989, late of Blayney[3], formerly of Wentworth Falls and Blackheath, New South Wales, Australia, aged 75 years, and is interred[4] at Eastern Suburbs Memorial Park, Matraville, New South Wales, Elizabeth Macarthur Walls, Wall B, Position 78.
