Biography

Israel was born in 1682. He is the son of Israel Holmes and Desire Doty.

In 1701, Israel and his brother John made the choice of their uncle John Rouse to be their guardian.^[1]

In 1706, Israel and his brother John signed a receipt from their uncle John Rouse for their father's estate and discharged him from John Rouse from their guardianship.^[2]

In memory of Mr Israel Holmes who Died Sep

Ye 8th 1760 Aged 77 years & 6 months

Old age with all her dismal Train

Invades your golden years

With Sighs & Groans & raging Pain

And Death that never Spares ^[3]
