Note: In 1850 Lorain's household included her husband Ward, her stepson Mortimer, her daughter Sylvia, her sister Currence and Ward's brother Henry. Henry and Currence married in 1851.

In 1860 Mortimer and Sylvania were still at home. The household now included Phebe Maybee, age 16.

In 1870, Lorain, now a widow, lived with her married daughter and her son in law.

In the 1880 census Lorraine (age 56), Keeping House, was the wife of Aseph Mather in Day, Montcalm, Michigan, United States.^[9]

In 1900 Lorain, who had been widowed a second time in 1889, was again living with her daughter Sylvia and her son-in- law Charles.
