Biography

Katherine Elizabeth Hooker was born on November 9, 1864 to Charles and Barbara Christle Hooker in Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio. She appears on the 1870 United States Census at age six. Her name was reported as "Kate Hooker"^[1]

She appears on the 1880 United States Census at age 16. Her name is reported as "Kate Hooker".^[2]

On February 1, 1893 she married Ulysses Grant Raybourn in Lancaster, Fairfield County, Ohio. They had five sons and three daughters.

She appears on the 1900 United States Census at age 36. Her name was reported as "Katie Hootier".^[3]

She appears on the 1910 United States Census at age 46. Her occupation was Laundress". Her name was reported as "Katie E. Rayborn".^[4]

She appears on the 1920 United States Census at age 56. Her name was reported as "E. Katie Raybourn".^[5]

She appears on the 1930 United States Census at age 66. Her name was reported as "Katie E. Raybourne".^[6]

On January 29, 1932 her daughter, Marie Franklin, died at the age of 34.

On April 20, 1947 her son, Russell died as a result of a foundry fire where he was employed. He was 50 years old.

Katherine passed away on February 9, 1939 in Lancaster, Ohio. She was 74 years old; she died of cancer.^[7][8]
