Isaac Hooper was born in 1830 in Wales. He became a farmer and was of Welsh origin. He arrived in Canada in 1871 at the age of 41 years. (Passenger & Immigration Lists Index 1500s - 1900s) He was also a Methodist, and raised his family as Methodists. He married in Ontario, Canada. He signed his name by an " x " on his son Richard Henry's birth registration form, thus showing he had little or no training in writing or reading.

In 1901 at age 72, he lived with his wife, Frances Holley Hooper as listed in her daughter, Sophia Hooper Hardaker's household.

He died at age 81 years on William Street, in Dresden, Ontario.

Funeral Card: ISAAC HOOPER died Dresden, on Tuesday, September 19, 1911, in his 83rd year. The Funeral service will be conducted at the home of his son, Abraham Hooper, Cemetery St., North Dresden, on Friday, September 22, at 2:00 p.m., after which the interment will take place in the Dresden Cemetery.
