Lesley was a son of William and Emily (Stubbs) Horn. During the Civil War he served in the 9th Regiment, Kentucky Mounted Infantry. After the war, he became a carpenter and, in 1871, married Harriet Louise Eveleth. By 1880 they were living in Monroe, Louisiana, but moved to Orange County, Florida, by 1885, where he found work as a mechanic. In 1900 they were living in Orlando, Florida, where they remained. In 1909 Lesley was the commander of the Confederate Veterans society, Orange County Camp No. 54. He and his wife are buried next to each other in the Confederate section of Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando.
