Notice the spelling of the Celia's name on each certificate and also that of her Grandmother Josephine Hornbeck.

I, Kathryn Champagne-Ainsworth, granddaughter of Frances, while researching her genealogy, discovered 2 birth dates used on different documents for Frances. Her death certificate, funeral home records and the 1900 Federal Census show her birth date as 25 Oct 1898. The Church of St. Mary and St. Andrew of Ellenville, New York shows in their records, Frances was born 25 Oct 1896 and baptized 6 Dec 1896. The marriage record for Harrison and Frances states Frances will be 18 in Oct 1914, which figures birth year as 1896. A notebook kept by Josephine Eller Hornbeck states, "Fannie Elizabeth Hornbeck was born Sunday, October 25, 1896". I am using the birth date of 25 Oct 1896 as the actual birth date for Frances based on the evidence that was produced at the time of actual events.
I only met my grandmother once. When I was around 10 years old, in the mid 1960s, my mother Celia and I flew to New York for a visit. While there I met my cousins (the children of my Aunt Inez), my Aunt Inez and Uncle Kenneth, and my Grandmother Frances. I remember Grandma as a wonderful lady and a great cook. She used a crutch to help her get around the house. (She also used this crutch if she needed to discipline her grandchildren! :) ). I invite others reading this biography of Frances Hornbeck Krum to add your recollections of her.
I discovered in my family history research that Grandfather Harrison Krum and Grandmother Frances Hornbeck are second cousins. Here is a pdf file that shows their relationship. If you click on chart you will see a larger image.
