Biography
Richard Stephen Horne was born on July 9, 1844 in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States, son of Joseph Horne (1812–1897) and Mary Isabella Hales (1818–1905).
Richard died on August 17, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, aged 81.
Richard (24) married Elizabeth Emmeline Ferguson (15) (born on March 1, 1853 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake; daughter of George Washington Price) on September 20, 1868 in Salt Lake City, S-Lk, Utah. Their children were:
In the 1850 census, Richard (age 6) was living in Great Salt Lake, Utah Territory, United States with his parents, Joseph Horne (39), a farmer and Mary Horne (32). Also living in the home were Henry (12), Joseph (8), Richard (6), Elizabeth (4), Leonora (2) and Mary Humphrey (16). [1]
In the 1860 census, Richard was living in Great Salt Lake City Ward 14, Great Salt Lake, Utah Territory with his parents, Joseph Horne (48), a mason and Mary Horne (41). Also living in the home were Henry (21), Joseph (18), Richard (15), Elizabeth (14), Leonora (11), Julie (8), John (6), Pamela (4), Cornelius (4) and Martha (2). Joseph's second wife, Elizabeth (19) and their son Henry (1) were also living in the home. [2]
In the 1880 census, Richard (age 35), Farmer, was the married head of household in Paris, Bear Lake, Idaho, United States.[3]
