Sarah (Hourie) Watson was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Metis Nation.

Genealogical Proof Standard I believe this profile satisfies the 5 proof elements

1863 Sara was baptized at St Andrews, Red River Settlement November 19 or 29th, her father, Thomas, was 19, and her mother, Agnes, was 18

1881 she is 18 and living with family in area of Prince Albert. Her last name is spelled Houne.

1883 1st Marriage to Moses Flammand in and they had one child, William B while living at South Branch Settlement (south of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan).

1887 Her Scrip application indicates she was living in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. It also notes she and her parents had lived originally in Manitoba (described her place of birth as St. Andrew’s Parish), then in Fort Ellice, Manitoba for 2 years.

1888 her withdrawl from Treaty is documented (listed Band member #23 as Flammand) of the Muskoday (John Smith) Band First Nation in Saskatachewan At about the same time she is baptized at Pakan Alberta (near Fort Victoria, now Metis Victoria Settlement)

1891 Sarah is living with her parents in Prince Albert at age 18.

1893 Sarah has her second marriage to: Louis (Lewy) Watson (based on 1900 census claim of being married 7 years). Note: although she identifies as 'white', records confirm her Metis ancestry.

1900 Sarah is documented in census with Louis Watson and 4 of their children living in Post Falls Idaho. She is said to be 39 years which puts her birth date 2 years later than previously recorded.

1921 Sarah is documented in census with Louis Watson and 1 of their children living in Stavely Alberta. Her age claim differs from government Scrip records by 3 years.

1926 Sarah (listing herself as Louise) and her son Albert are documented in census living in Stavely without her husband.

1931 Sarah is in Stavely with husband Louis, son Albert and granddaughter Laura Balcom She is 72.

1932 Sarah moved with son Albert and his new wife to Bentley, Alberta.

1942 Buried (later joined by her son Albert and his wife Dorothy} in Sylvan Lake Cemetery
