born on family plantation. when mother died placed with uncle & aunt.couple of yrs later father took her to Texas & placed with sister in Catholic orphanage. Later worked in attached catholic run asylum and still later catholic placed her there as a patient after she had outlived her usefullness to them. Sister was dead by this time and her brother was in California and they did not notify them and when he inquired after her they claimed they had no knowledge of her. When they admitted her they changed her name to Besha Halligan. She is buried in Terrell State Hospital Wildwood Cemetery. The marker is in Section 8 grave number 2549.[1]
