Born 11 June 1832 in Dover, Vermont.[1][2]
In 1850, he was living with his parents' family in Dover, Vermont.[3] He married Ella Sherman, daughter of Roubin and Dorothy (Snow) Sherman, about 1860. Their first child Marion Howe was born in Springfield, Vermont 3 June 1861[4] and she died 3 August 1861.[5] In 1870, he was living with his wife Ellen and two chidren in Brattleboro, Vermont. He was a store clerk.[6] In 1880 he was iving with his wife in Leon, Decatur, Iowa, listed as a hotel clerk.[7] In 1900, he was living with is wife in Osceola, Iowa as a hotel landllord.[8] He died in 1902 and was buried in Brattleboro, Vermont.[9]
Cited birth record lists his name as Rodney Sheldon Howe. 1850 census for Dover, Windham, Vermont lists him as Rodney W. Howe. 1870 census for Brattleboro, Vermont and Find a Grave list his name as S. Rodney Howe. 1900 census for Osceola, Clarke, Iowa lists him as Sheldon R. Howe.
