Biography

Samson was born in Killingly, Connecticut 26 July 1751, the son of Rev. Perley Howe and Damaris Cady.[1]

He married 25 Mar 1774 in Killingly, Huldah Davis, daughter of Deacon Daniel and Tamar (Towne) Davis, born in Killingly 9 May 1754. They lived in Killingly where he was a prominent man in town. They had 10 children born in Killingly. He was Town Clerk and Treasurer of Killingley for several years, and he served in the Revolutionary War. In 1787, he was elected to the Hartford Convention to consider the proposed US Constitution, and was elected to the General Assembly for more than 30 years. He died in Pomfret, Connecticut 7 Sep 1824.[2]
