Biography

Frederick was born in Brookfield, Worcester, Massachusetts Bay Colony on 23 Aug 1764. He is the third born child and son of Elijah Howe and Deborah Smith.^[1]

He married Sarah White,^[2] daughter of John White and Silence Baldwin, in Spencer, Worcester, Massachusetts on 5 Mar 1789. They had twelve (known) children together, all born in Spencer. 1) Cynthia b. on 6 Mar 1789; she married Jason Abbott of Paxton; 2) Frederick b. on 21 Feb 1791; 3) Sarah W. b. on 23 Feb 1793; she married Eleazer B. Bush of North Brookfield; 4) Darius b. on 4 Feb 1795; 5) Lewis b. on 24 Nov 1796; he died at age 20, a few days before his 21st birthday on 4 Nov 1817; 6) Relief b. on 22 Dec 1798; 7) Dennis b. on 18 Apr 1801; 8) Mehitable b. on 12 Sep 1803; she married Hallowell P. Partridge of Plainfield CT; 9) Cutlerb. on 14 Nov 1805; he died at age 23 on 3 Mar 1829; 10) Amy b. on 3 Feb 1808; she married Lowell Damon of Fitzwilliam NH; 11) Addison b. on 15 Dec 1810; and 12) Cyrus b. on 6 Apr 1813; he died a few days short of his 26th birthday on on 25 Mar 1839. Frederick was a prominent citizen of Spencer serving as a land surveyor, on the board of Assessor and as Justice of the Peace.^[3] He is buried in Old Spencer Cemetery.^[4]
