Biography
Ellen Francis Howell was born about 1838 in Ireland.
She married Randall Fish and together they had four children.[1]
Ellen suffered from mental illness. She was known to have "aural and/or visual hallucinations".[2]
After her husband, Randall's death in 1875, Ellen placed her son into Saint John's Orphanage in Washington.[2]
By 1880, Ellen had a government job and was able to remove Albert from the orphanage.[2]
In 1898, Ellen arranged a marriage for her son, Albert him with Anna Mary Hoffman.
She died on October 10, 1903 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. She was buried Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in East Orange, Essex County, New Jersey, United States.[3]
